Jing Yang is an Assistant Professor at Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, University at Buffalo. She received her PhD from the School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University and master from the University of Michigan. She focuses on developing real-time systems for human cognitive functions and behavior modeling, as well as designing interventions to enhance human performance in a variety of environments.

Thomas Meyer
Dr. Tom Meyer is an Adjunct Graduate Studies Professor at Liberty University’s School of Aeronautics, where he teaches Ph.D. courses. Dr. Meyer received his MS in Aeronautics (2022) and Ph.D. (2024) from Liberty University. Dr. Meyer’s research focuses on the applications of artificial intelligence in aviation, including airborne and ground operations. His dissertation studied airline pilot's trust in airborne automation.

Dr. Güliz Tokadlı is Principal Systems Engineer at Advanced Technology Development group in Collins Aerospace. Prior to Collins, she worked in Autonomous Vehicle industry to support human factors analyses and HMI subsystem development for autonomous vehicles (Uber ATG & Aurora) and human-guided autonomous convoy systems (Locomation AI). Since 2013, Dr. Tokadlı has been specializing and working on cognitive assistants and human-autonomy teaming, adaptive systems, decision-support systems, and operator monitoring systems. She holds Ph.D. with the honor of Grad College Marshal in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (Human Factors major), and Human-Computer Interaction departments from Iowa State University, an M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering (Cognitive Systems Engineering major) from Georgia Institute of Technology, and B.Sc. from Astronautical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.

Kelly Neville
Dr. Kelly Neville is a Principal Cognitive Engineer in MITRE’s Modeling and Analysis Innovation Center. Her research interests center around complex system dynamics and sources of resilience in high-consequence work operations. Her work includes studying and evaluating human expertise and technology design contributions to system resilience in applied settings, and methods and tools that support resilience-enabling technology development. Across Dr. Neville’s career, she has worked as DoD research psychologist, university associate professor, and principal investigator and portfolio manager for small businesses specializing in artificial intelligence. At MITRE, she conducts research and develops methods to support resilience assessment in safety analyses, simulation exercises, and in the iterative test-and-evaluation of new technologies. She holds an MS and PhD in Experimental Psychology from Rice University.

Katya is a senior human factors scientist who has been conducting research in the energy sector for 14 years. She leads human factors research in several complex, multidisciplinary subjects including nuclear power, electric grid, human automation and human AI interaction, and cybersecurity. Her research in nuclear power plant modernization has led to transformational change in the way field operators conduct procedures and has improved operator interfaces for control of nuclear power plant equipment in the field and in the control room. Her cybersecurity work includes cyber risk characterization in nuclear power and critical infrastructure, visualization to support coordination between system operators and cybersecurity professionals and addressing the technical and regulatory risks related to cyber security in nuclear power. She is deputy national technical director for the DOE NE advanced reactors safeguards and security program where she directs cybersecurity research. Katya has over 100 technical publications in human factors in the energy . She is a senior member of IEEE and holds a PhD and master’s degree in cognitive psychology from New Mexico State and a BS in psychology from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.

Dr. Lixiao Huang is an Associate Research Scientist at the Center for Human, Artificial Intelligence, and Robot Teaming (CHART) within Global Security Initiative (GSI) at Arizona State University (ASU). Dr. Huang held a Postdoctoral Associate position in the Humans and Autonomy Lab (HAL) at Duke University from February 2017 to September 2018. She received her Ph.D. in Human Factors and Applied Cognition from North Carolina State University’s Psychology Department in 2016. Her research interests include: (a) Human– AI–Robot Teaming effectiveness; (b) Humans’ responses (i.e., emotional, behavioral, and cognitive) to robots and technologies, especially emotional attachment, intrinsic motivation, and trust; (c) The design of human–robot systems using Human Factors methods; and (d) The education of robotics, Human–Robot Interaction, Human Factors, and other subjects using robots.

Dr. Joseph B. Lyons is the Lead for the Collaborative Interfaces and Teaming Core Research Area within the 711 Human Performance Wing at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Dr. Lyons received his PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Wright State University in Dayton, OH, in 2005. Some of Dr. Lyons’ research interests include human-machine trust, interpersonal trust, human factors, and influence. Dr. Lyons has worked for the Air Force Research Laboratory as a civilian researcher since 2005, and between 2011-2013 he served as the Program Officer at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research where he created a basic research portfolio to study both interpersonal and human-machine trust as well as social influence. Dr. Lyons has published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, and is an Associate Editor for the journal Military Psychology. Dr. Lyons is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Military Psychologists.

David Grimm
David Grimm is a doctoral student in Engineering Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology (GT). He is also a Visiting Scholar at Arizona State University (ASU) in Human Systems Engineering under Dr. Jamie Gorman in the Systems Psychology Lab. David received his MS in Engineering Psychology from GT in 2020. Before this, David earned a BA/BS in Psychology and Statistics from the University of California, Davis in 2011. He subsequently worked for five years as a Clinical Research Assistant at the Veteran’s Affairs in Palo Alto, CA. Upon transitioning to studying Engineering Psychology, David has focused on applications in both human-human and human-autonomy teams (HATs). His research experience has included applying methods and measures from dynamical systems theory to better understand team performance in HATs, creating measurements of team resilience, communication analysis, and developing methods of measuring uncertainty and adaptation in teams. He hopes that his work can have applications towards improving teamwork and human-AI interactions in military and healthcare settings.

Myounghoon (Philart) Jeon
Dr. Myounghoon "Philart" Jeon is Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and by courtesy, Computer Science at Virginia Tech and director of the Mind Music Machine Lab. His research focuses on emotions and sound in the context of driving, robot, and art. His research has been supported by NIH, NSF, DOT, FRA, and industry partners. He serves as an associate/senior editor of IJHCS, Presence, MTI, and Ergonomics in Design. He has edited books, “Emotions and Affect in Human Factors and Human-Computer Interaction” and “User Experience Design in the Era of Automated Driving”, and journal special issues, including “Contextualized Affective Interactions with Robots”. He received the Earl Alluisi Award for Early Career Achievement from Division 21 of the American Psychological Association in 2024. His works were also recognized by awards such as the IF Communication Design Award and the Korean Ergonomic Design Award and best papers in the international conferences (HFES, ICAD, HCII, AutoUI, ArtsIT). He earned his MS degree in Cognitive Sciences at Yonsei University in Korea and studied Film Scoring. After industry experiences, Dr. Jeon completed his MS and PhD degrees at Georgia Tech in Engineering Psychology and Human-Computer Interaction.

Dr. Joonbum Lee is an Associate Scientist of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His broad research interests are in driving safety and predictive modeling. His recent research topics include driver–automation teaming and applications of advanced modeling to understand drivers’ interaction with manual and partially automated vehicles. He received his PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014. Previously he was a Principal Research Scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute and Postdoctoral Associate at MIT.

Ericka Rovira
Ericka Rovira, Ph. D. is a tenured Professor of Engineering Psychology in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. Her research investigates human autonomy teaming in high-risk complex environments. Dr. Rovira brings expertise in HRI, trust, and decision support tools, and has contributed extensively to the study of reliability and trust on technology in complex and uncertain environments. Her interest lies in understanding how to improve trust and reliance in robots including transparent human autonomy interaction and individual differences in cognition. Dr. Rovira has successfully attracted funding by various Department of Defense and government agencies (e.g., ONR, ARL, NRL, CERDEC, Mitre, & Minerva). Notably, Dr. Rovira has most recently been awarded a Multi University Research Initiative grant for the next 5 years to study human autonomous teaming ($7.5 Million, 7 collaborators). Dr. Rovira has held various leadership positions ranging from immediate past Program Director for the Engineering Psychology Program at West Point (academic department chair equivalent role) to Founder and Director of the Excel Scholars Program (an honors program which increases the number of historically underrepresented cadets that compete and win graduate fellowships), and Lab Director for 9 research labs. She has also served on the Program Committee for the HRI Conference. Last Dr. Rovira is a Fellow and Past President of the American Psychological Association’s Division 21: Applied Experimental and Engineering Psychology Division.

Dr. Eric Holder, Human Factors Scientist, received his Ph.D. in experimental psychology from Texas Tech University in 2003. He is a Human Factors professional and specializes in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, user-centered design and evaluation, instructional design, human performance, and task and workload analysis. Dr. Holder has formal training in human factors engineering, usability, experimental psychology and statistical analysis and is cross-trained in cognitive, social, and industrial-organizational psychology and industrial engineering and has 17 years of experience in human-centered research, development and design. This research experience includes the government, industry, commercial and military sectors and both U.S. and international work across a wide range of projects and stages of the Research and Development lifecycle. His current position is with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory's Human Research and Engineering Directorate (HRED) at Ft. Huachuca, AZ and is working projects on Human Autonomy Teaming (HAT), Explainable Artificial Intelligence, and Advanced Manufacturing of adaptable 3D printed drones among other themes.

Erin Chiou, Past TG Conference Program Co-Designate (April 2020 – December 2022)Dr. Erin K. Chiou is an assistant professor of human systems engineering at Arizona State University's Polytechnic School, part of The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, and director of the Automation Design Advancing People and Technology (ADAPT) Laboratory. Chiou's research on human-automation interaction and human-agent teaming has been funded by NSF, DHS, AFOSR, DARPA, and by ASU's Center for Innovation in Healthy and Resilient Aging (CIHRA). Chiou received her PhD in industrial and systems engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, concentrating in human factors and ergonomics. During this time, she was supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program and was also active in the student community, serving in several leadership roles for K-12 science outreach, as well as president of the HFES Student Chapter. Prior to graduate school, Chiou worked in various industries, including at a medical device company and an international education startup company. She received her BS in psychology and philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was also a Freeman Fellow exchange student at Fudan University from 2006 - 2007, and a recipient of the Asian American Leadership Award in 2006.

Prior to joining the University of Michigan, he obtained a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2014 and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Tsinghua University, China in 2012. His research interest is human-robot interaction.

Sylvain Bruni, Past TG Committee Member (April 2020 – December 2021)
Mr. Sylvain Bruni is Principal Engineer and Deputy Division Director for Performance Augmentation Systems at Aptima, Inc. His technical work focuses on developing and deploying human-AI collaborative systems and technologies in defense and healthcare domains. Mr. Bruni currently supervises a multi-million-dollar portfolio of defense and civilian cognitive assistants called SIDEKICK (Systems for Interactive Discovery and Exploitation of Knowledge and Insights with Contextual Kinetics). At Aptima, he additionally provides expertise and leadership in human factors and cognitive systems engineering, design thinking, rapid prototyping, and agile methodologies (including DevOps and SAFe). Mr. Bruni holds an SM in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Diplôme d’Ingénieur from the Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité (Supélec, France). He is a trained SAFe Advanced Scrum Master and Product Owner. Mr. Bruni is an active member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (IEEE-SMC), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the DoD Human Factors Engineering Technical Advisory Group (DODHFETAG), and the G-45 Human Systems Integration (HSI) Standards Committee of SAE.

Tristan Endsley, Past TG Secretary and Treasurer (April 2020 – December 2022)Dr. Tristan Endsley is a Senior Human Systems Engineer at the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory. She holds a PhD in Information Sciences and Technology from Pennsylvania State University, and an MSc in Psychology of Language from the University of Edinburgh. Her varied research interests centers on the engineering of robust human centered systems, and is focused on the architecting of future human machine teaming capabilities; prior research has included multicultural teaming in extreme environments, humanitarian assistance and disaster response, and human factors for AR/VR. Currently, her work at Draper focuses on human performance modeling in complex systems, the interaction and teaming of humans with autonomy and AI, and on the development technologies that support better systems operations and performance, supporting mission critical and space system domains. She was the technical lead for Draper’s participation in NASA’s underwater analog, NEEMO. Dr. Endsley is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society where she is acting co-chair for the National Ergonomics Month Committee, and is a member of the Government Relations Committee (GRC) subcommittee on Space Systems, She is a member of AIAA.
